🛑 Beware of AppleCare.pk for MacBook Repairs! 🛑
I want to share my recent experience with AppleCare.pk regarding my MacBook Pro 2019 16-inch repair. My laptop suddenly went blank and wouldn't turn on. Another shop diagnosed it with voltage issues, showing just 5 volts from the power supply.
I turned to AppleCare.pk, who assured me a quick fix within 2 days, estimating a bill of 25k to 60k. I agreed, stressing they should call for approval if it goes over 20k.
Shocking part? After 3 days, I was hit with a 105k bill without prior consent! They changed the processor and other logic board parts, even unlocking my MacBook's password—equivalent to cybercrime.
When I called, they justified the processor replacement, which left me stunned, as it's a rare, intricate procedure. To my dismay, they reduced the bill to 95k after a lengthy debate.
Transparency lacked; they provided an inadequate bill (attached). I'm sharing this to alert fellow MacBook owners: steer clear of AppleCare.pk (details on the bill).
Considering legal action to prevent others from enduring this. Stay cautious and spread the word!
